Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of Bridger. By creating an account or using Bridger, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Who can use Bridger

• You must be at least 13 years old.
• You must provide a phone number you control (or another supported sign-in method when it is offered).
• Keep your login secure and tell us if you believe your account was compromised.
• We may restrict accounts that violate these Terms or put other people at risk.

Accounts and sign-in texts

• The default account path is a phone number plus a one-time SMS code. First use creates the account. Later visits sign you in.
• By asking for a code on Sign in (Send me a code), you agree Bridger may text that number a short sign-in message. Those texts are for verification only, not marketing.
• After you sign in, you stay signed in on this device. If you turn on Face ID or fingerprint, anyone who can unlock this phone can open Bridger while you stay signed in. Bridger does not store your face or fingerprint.

Bridger Sign-in Texts (SMS program)

Program name: Bridger Sign-in Texts. Bridger texts a one-time passcode so you can create an account or sign in. Message frequency: only when you request a code. We do not send marketing texts on this program.

Privacy details for this program are in our Privacy Policy. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Your license

Bridger gives you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose. Bridger owns the app, brand, and design. You keep ownership of the content you create.

Content and acceptable use

We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive users.

You agree not to:

• Post illegal, hateful, harassing, exploitative, graphic, or otherwise objectionable content.
• Impersonate people, spam, scam, or share another person's private information without permission.
• Use Bridger to track or advertise to people without their consent.
• Evade blocks, account restrictions, privacy tiers, or service limits.
• Attack, scrape, reverse engineer beyond applicable fair-use rights, or disrupt Bridger.

You grant Bridger a limited license to host, display, and deliver your content to the audience you chose, and to operate safety and moderation features. You can report content and block people in the app. We may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these Terms.

Your account and data

• You control who can see content through Bridger's privacy tiers and audience choices.
• Personalize in Settings can install Bridger packs. A pack you offer is user content and waits for review. Each friend installs it. You cannot use a pack to see or process someone else's information beyond what they allowed.
• Sign in with Bridger is how another app can ask for purposes you grant. It is not how you create a Bridger account. You can withdraw a purpose. We can revoke the app. The app does not get a database key.
• You may delete your account from Settings. Account deletion permanently removes your data and associated analytics profile.
• An email on the public waitlist is not an account. It is stored locked. Joining means we may email it when Bridger is ready. Get updates means we may also email about where things stand. Be a beta tester means you want to try it early. Email hello@bridger.social to ask us to delete it.
• Invite links and QR codes must not be sold, spammed, or used for abuse.
• Content shared outside Bridger is also governed by the receiving app's terms.

Co-op membership and payments

• Co-op membership is optional. Bridger's core connection features remain available without paid membership.
• Real membership payments are not live in this build. Current join actions are test stubs and do not charge you.
• When payments launch, applicable platform or payment-processor terms will also apply.
• Event chip-in handles are peer-to-peer links. Bridger does not process those payments.

AI and linked services

• Model-assisted summaries may be incomplete or incorrect. Harmful output can be reported.
• Matching embeddings keep your words and quiz dial numbers. Bridger does not turn that meaning into an identity label in order to compare people.
• You choose what information enters a computation, and what purpose that computation serves. Bridger chooses the engineering needed to make that authorized computation reliable and secure.
• Bridger may use machine learning to understand information you explicitly authorize for a feature. Your private information is not used to train general-purpose AI models without separate permission.
• Our goal is to run those models ourselves, so member information does not have to go to an outside AI company. We aim to get there by the first of these: September 2031, about 1 million Bridger accounts, or a person who volunteers to build and run it as a service to the co-op.
• We are as far along as we know how to be, and we list the rest here. Matching scores already stay on our servers. Written summaries, quiz help, and the optional assistant still go to Anthropic. Matching fingerprints and speech-to-text still go to OpenAI. Live captions in a web browser may use that browser's speech tool. We do not send those so the companies can train their general models. If we find another path, we add it on this page.
• The optional Billy assistant is off by default and must not act without your confirmation.
• Optional Spotify or Apple Music links are governed by those services' terms and may be disconnected.

Service availability

Bridger is provided "as is" to the extent allowed by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, matches, friendships, event outcomes, or that every feature will always be available. We may update or retire features as the product changes.

Ending use

You may stop using Bridger and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for Terms violations, illegal activity, or safety risks.

Changes and contact

We may update these Terms as Bridger changes. Material updates will be reflected on this page with a new date.
